Major John. B. Jones, leader of the Texas Rangers, organizer of the Frontier Battalion, author of the oath of office used by Rangers, known as "the Jones Oath", Grand Master of Freemasons in Texas, and namesake of the new Major John B. Jones Masonic Rangering Company.
